Whites

Borsao Blanco

Macabeo 2008, Spain 13%

A delightful light, clean white from Spain.  Lots of juicy citrus fruit flavours with a satisfying dry finish, perfect to enjoy on its own or with fish

PaarlHeights

Chenin Blanc 2007, South Africa 13.5%

A fresh, full medium/dry white wine with a delicate lemon colour, displaying intense floral, guava and citrus aromas, and succulent tropical fruit on the palate, balanced by a clean fresh finish.

Sierra Grande

Unoaked Chardonnay 2008, Italy 14%

Really lush & delicious, bursting with melon & tropical fruit flavours & retaining fresh fruit flavours all the way through to the long finish.  No wood here so just clean, rounded fruit.

Principato

Pinot Grigio 2007, Italy 12%

Showing all the classic dry minerality of the grape, but also with a delightful pear drop fruit & fullness of body allowing a great match with fish as well as being super on its own.

Sherwood 'Stoney Range'

Sauvignon 2008, NZ 13%

Classic kiwi sauvignon, lots of full flavours, gooseberry & grapefruit, with plenty of dry zip & freshness. A lovely full mouth feel of plump fruit makes this great with lighter dishes, or of course to sup away on its own.

Reds

Borsao

Grenache 2007, Spain 13.5%

Juicy, red berry fruit with hints of vanilla on the nose.  Great balance of fruit with a light structure of dryness makes this great with some food, but fruity enough to glug away on its own

Il Banchetto

Sangiovese 2008, Italy 12%

Light & fresh red from the North of Italy, with smooth red berrry fruits & hints of violets.

Bellefontaine

Syrah, 2006  France 13.5%

A lush medium to full bodied wine.  Full, ripe red berry fruits with a dusting of spice, pepper & gentle drying tannins.  The full flavour & gentle dryness match up nicely with our meats.

La Linda

Malbec, 2007 Argentina 14%

A deeply-coloured, powerful red with great concentration of black cherry & spice. Complex, creamy dark damson and dried fruit with lush vanilla & plenty of drying tannins on the finish. What better combination is there than Argentinean malbec & steak?

Soldier's Block Shiraz, 2007 Australia 14.5%

Super ozzie shiraz, really lush, full, creamy, dark berry fruits, hints of spice& wisps of vanilla. The luscious fruit flavours are full & powerful but not overly sweet or jammy, making this a great wine on its own or with our meat on the rocks.

Morgon

Le Cru Aux Roches Pourries, 2007 France 13%

From a famous area of Beaujolais, this wine displays ripe cherries and plums on the nose giving some indication to how fruit-rich the palate is. Fruit and spice flavours are velvety to the finish, with a lovely touch of crisp acidity.

Cape Atlantic

Pinotage, 2007 South Africa 14%

Rich smoky dark fruit with sweet plum flavours. This wine has a fresh, smooth texture with supple tannins, which makes it perfect on its own or with our selection of South African meats such as Kudu and Impala.

Sherwood

Pinot Noir 2007, NZ 13%

A full nose with hints of gamey fruit.  Silky red berry fruits, with smooth strawberry & red current, but with an added complexity of earthiness & spice making this a truly pleasing & well balanced wine.  Soft enough to enjoy on its own but with that added structure that means it flowers with food.

Rose

Borsao

Rosado 2008, Spain 13%

Made from Grenache this has delicious, light red berry fruit flavour and a nice creamy body & a refreshing dry finish.

Sparkling
Primo Prosecco Frizzante NV, Italy 10.5%
A lovely light aromatic nose leads to a confident, creamy, lemon-tanged palate and a bright, lively finish.

Taltarni Brut 2005, Australia 13%

Made in the same way & with the same grapes as Champagne’s wines, this has lovely apple & citrus fruits that then give way to classic biscuit & yeasty character, with a lovely dry finish.

Nyetimber Classic Cuvee 2001, UK 12%

England’s most famous sparkling wine, often causing a stir at French tastings by being better than many champagnes. A delicious body of honey & toast yet with a underlying minerality keeping it fresh & dry

Dessert

Araldica Moscato Passito 2004, Italy 13%

Honeyed, rich and intense with concentrated Muscat characters. It is grapey, aromatic with sweetness balanced by nice acidity and a long powerful, finish.
