Ron Zacapa

This rum has a dark mahogany colour with a smooth, honeyed aroma. The taste is very sweet and warming with some oak, vanilla and dried fruits. This rum needs to breathe, leave for a few minutes in the glass to help clear the sweetness and improve the flavour.

SCOTTISH WHISKEY

Campbeltown

Springbank 10yo

Light in colour, rich in flavour. Packed with character. Citrus and pear on the nose with a whiff of peat. On the palate, spicy cinnamon and nutmeg balanced with soft vanilla and oak, a touch of smoke to finish. Complex is the word.

Longrow 14yo

Gorgeous whisky. Dark honey amber in colour. Smoke, chocolate, with oodles of peat on the nose. Palate, excellent balance, oily feel; peat, embers, oak and a touch of saltiness complimented by natural toffee. Finishes with amazing length. An Islay style from Campbeltown!

Hazleburn 12yo

Dark, burnt amber colour. The nose is highly aromatic with dried fruit, caramel, nuts, chocolate, spice and a hint of smoke. More dried fruit and caramel on the palate, which is balanced by chocolate, coffee and spices. The finish is long with lots of caramel sweetness followed by drier woody and spicy notes.

Kilkerran

A lightly peated and double distilled single malt, which has a light and fragrant nose with masses of sweet vanilla on the tongue. The classic Campbeltown salt hits and is followed by creamy toffee butterscotch. Gentle smoke on the finish.

Lowland

Bladnoch 10yo

Lemon, lime & marmalade on the nose.  Fruity, chewy spiciness on the palate with a lovely bitter/sweet balance. ‘a piece of Lowland legend & folklore’ J.Murray.

Glenkinchie 12yo

A light sweet nose with barley-malt, green grass and wisps of autumn smoke. Slightly sweet yet fresh, late summer fruits and harvest fields, young wood and malted barley.

Speyside

Macallan 10yo fine oak

Much more subtle & delicate than the full on sherried version, but no less lovely.  Brimming with light oak, fruit & clean barley.

GLEN ELGIN

Amber colour with sweetness and green grass on the nose. The palate is smoky initially followed by hops and spices. The finish is sweet with sherry influences.

Cardhu 12yo

There’s a just touch of smoke lingering in the otherwise malt rich nose that offers other aromas of mixed nuts and dried apricots, then sweeter vanilla notes.  The palate is very soft, medium weight and medium dry. Vanillan oak and sweet cereals pass over imperceptibly into a shortish aftertaste of cereals, vanilla and spice.

Wemyss malts 19YO

A superb independent single cask malt whisky bottler and each batch is different and very limited. We try to choose the best they offer but we can’t ensure that the batch will be the same every time.

Benriach 16yo

Whisps of smoke, oak and malt on the nose. Great mouth-feel, slightly oily in texture. Superbly balanced with barley sweetness, smoke and spice and more oak on the palete wit some subtle vanilla. Finishes with oak, spice and smoke.

Benriach 21yo

Deep golden colour with gentle fruit and peat smoke on the nose. A warm, smokey and cinnamon flavour on the palate. Full and firm bodied with a medium to long finish.

Highland

Glenmorangie 10yo

This whisky may be young but the aroma suggests otherwise, delicate aged oak, herbal, citrus and floral notes. The palate brings about flavours of honey, more herbs, ginger, cinnamon and more citrus. Great length on the finish packed with almonds, oak and cocoa. Young but confident.

Dalmore 12YO

Amber colour with a nose of sweet malt and fruit. Medium bodied on the palate with more fruit, malt, light sherry and a touch of ginger. The finish is medium in length, drying and persistently nutty.

Islands

Highland Park 12yo

Complex nose. Fruit, leather, molasses, honey, salt and a scattering of peat. Medium bodied in the mouth with a bitter/sweet balance, some oak, honey and some weighty peat. Lots of earthiness in the finish, heather, spices and peat; great length.

Talisker 10yo

Apertising aromas of smoked meat and embers with tones of spice. Lots of lively barley, smokiness and a touch of salt. The oak provides quite a dryness which follows through into the finish complimented by chocolate and smoke.

Islay

Laphroaig 10yo

Islay in a glass. Coastal aromas dominated by lively peat and soft oak. Flavours of rich barley, peat, iodine and soft salty notes. Despite it’s salty sea dog approach it finishes delicatetly with peat leading out to sweetness and great length. A true classic.

Ardbeg 10yo

Elegance and complexity on the nose; citrus-led, showcasing distinguished peat and a touch of sea salt. Flavour is dominated by peat, but never over powering. Plenty of citrus, sweet barley and a touch of dilute golden syrup. Finishes with unrivled clarity, vanilla from the oak, butterscotch, and satisfying wafts of smoke.

Bruichladdich

This terrific distillery get bored doing the same whisky all the time so constantly release new bottlings.  We keep our taste buds in trim trying as many as possible to bring you the best we can find.  Just ask to see which bottling we have of theirs at the moment.

Lagavulin 16yo

Given a 91/2 out of 10 by Michael Jackson in Whisky Magazine. He said “it is the driest of Islay malts and an established classic…[with] a huge, powerful, bear-hug of a finish”.

Port Ellen 27yo (Old Bothwell)

Port Ellen long since closed down is the most sought after of the islay malts.  This extremely old whisky is a classic example of smoothness & complexity. Slight salt & peat on the nose with a smokey, slightly sweet peaty palate & a leather/tar finish.  Any islay lover must try this once.

Arran 10yo

A ripe, golden barley colour with a nose of vanilla and fruits. The taste has a touch of cinnamon, a spicy edge and a soft and sweet texture, which captivates the palate. The classic Arran citrus notes have rounded with age and reveal new depths of character against a background of sweet oak
